What is a smile makeover?
A smile makeover involves using cosmetic dentistry procedures to improve the aesthetic appearance of your smile. This can include whitening, straightening, re-shaping, and closing spaces between your teeth. A smile makeover can treat discoloured, crooked, misshapen, crowded, worn-down and missing teeth.
Depending on your desired results and current dental condition, a smile makeover can completely re-design and transform your smile.
A combination of the following dental procedures may be used to complete your smile transformation: teeth whitening, tooth-coloured fillings, dental veneers (ceramic or composite), dental crowns, orthodontics, dental implants, implant-supported bridges, and gum recontouring.
If you currently do not have any natural teeth left, a smile makeover can replace all of your teeth on both jaws with full implant-retained dental bridges (“all-on-4” / “all-on-6” implants).
The goal of a smile makeover is to create a beautiful, functional, and natural-looking smile that is uniquely designed for you. This includes creating balanced tooth length, smile line, teeth proportions and colour composition. We also take a number of personal factors into consideration such as the structure of your face, gum tissue, and lips.
How much does a smile makeover cost?
The cost of a smile makeover will depend on the extent of treatment desired and required.

At this consultation you can discuss your goals and desired results, and we will advise what treatment(s) could be suitable for you, and provide cost estimates. There is no obligation to continue treatment.

Is a smile makeover worth it?
Whilst the main benefit people associate with a smile makeover is the improved aesthetic appearance of their smile, a smile makeover may provide additional dental and overall health benefits. For example, if your current teeth are fractured, cracked, or decayed, a smile makeover can improve the overall health and structural integrity of your teeth. Bringing crooked teeth into proper alignment can improve the health and function of teeth, and make it easier to maintain good oral hygiene at home. In addition, replacing missing teeth can prevent bone loss (atrophy), tooth shifting, and negative impact on diet if you weren’t able to chew healthy foods (such as crunchy vegetables and salads).

Our Services
Ceramic Veneers
Dental veneers are a cosmetic procedure to whiten or reshape teeth that are chipped, discoloured or misshapen. At VC Dental we can use veneers to provide a complete smile transformation. Ceramic (porcelain) veneers are the highest strength and best quality available.
Dental Crowns
Dental crowns are used to restore strength and functionality, and improve the aesthetic appearance of teeth. Some aesthetic results crowns can achieve include reshaping, rotating and closing spaces between teeth. Crowns are seamlessly matched to the shape and colour of your existing teeth, and will look, function and feel just like a natural tooth.
Laboratory Ceramics
We provide both laboratory-fabricated restorations, and same-day CEREC-fabricated restorations.
Laboratory-fabricated restorations use different types of porcelains (each with different shades and translucencies) in multiple layers on different regions of the restoration. This achieves the best colour match and optical quality when compared to natural teeth.
Your dentist will consult with you to decide whether laboratory or CEREC-fabricated restorations are the best option for your treatment. We can also use a combination of these fabrication techniques on different teeth to achieve optimal results.
CEREC Ceramics
Our CEREC system creates custom-made ceramic restorations (dental crowns, inlays and onlays) in a single dental visit. The ceramic material will be matched to your natural tooth colour to blend seamlessly into your smile. These restorations can treat decayed, cracked, chipped, worn and discoloured teeth.
Dental Bridges
A dental bridge is a fixed replacement option for missing teeth. They will hide the gap of missing teeth and restore the appearance of your smile. Dental bridges look and function like natural teeth.
Dental Implants
A dental implant is a fixed, permanent solution to replace missing teeth. A dental implant will improve the aesthetic appearance and chewing function of your smile. At VC Dental we can replace any number of missing teeth with dental implants.
Implant-Supported Bridges
An implant-supported bridge is similar to a regular bridge, but it is supported by dental implants (instead of by natural teeth). Not every crown within the bridge will require an implant. Implant-supported bridges will provide you with a permanent, fixed and functional tooth replacement option. At VC Dental we can replace any number of missing teeth with implant-supported bridges, including the entire dentition (all teeth).
Sedation Dentistry
If you are anxious about visiting the dentist we understand your concerns and want to make you as comfortable as possible. We have the following sedation options available: oral sedatives, inhalation sedation (“happy gas”), and Sleep Dentistry intravenous (IV) sedation. Sedation is offered from involved surgery to the smallest of procedures, depending on the level of complexity or patient anxiety.
SNAP Smile Simulation Software
Our SNAP smile simulation technology allows us to take a photo of your smile, edit it in a dental graphic design program, and then digitally show you what your new teeth could look like before we even begin treatment.
