Our aim is to prevent the onset of periodontal (gum) disease for the entire life of our patients. By implementing preventive programs tailored to patients’ individual needs, early tooth loss can be prevented allowing people to keep their teeth lifelong, thus enabling nutritional and dietary benefits from a healthier food selection.

Our Dental Hygienists Jessica Hughes, Jessica Bell, Lana Brown and Elly Vatandoust will carefully assess:
  * Plaque indexes (retained food on teeth).
  * Disclosing plaque.
  * Periodontal pocketing around teeth.
  * Dietary advice and assessment.
  * Saliva ph levels associated with tooth destruction.
  * Need for supplements such as fluoride toothpaste.
  * Preventive aids, toothbrush and floss selection.
  * Causes of, and cures for, bad breath.

With your Surgeon's support, our Hygienists will also appraise:
  * Need for tooth whitening.
  * Mouthguard application to protect existing dental work.
  * Custom mouthguard selection.

Our Dental Centre provides community support through:
  * Free Information Evenings held at Victoria Court Dental Centre.
  * Lecturing to local schools and sporting groups on all aspects of   preventative care and maintenance.
  * Lecturing to trained Hygienists.
  * Employing trainee Hygienists.
